OUR COMMUNITY

Super Hero 5K Run/ Walk Health & Safety Expo

To provide hope and healing to victims and survivors of crime through advocacy and the support of resources, information, and empowerment from the critical time after a crime occurs through the challenges and successes of surviving and thriving.

This event is a fun-family event with a 5K Run/Walk, Health & Safety Expo, Food & Entertainment, and fund-raising opportunity to help support programs and direct services at the Crime Survivors Resource Center. Awareness. Prevention. Advocacy. Healing.

In April of this year, a group of about 15 of us signed up and participated in the 5K Walk.  It was a cool morning and a beautiful day to walk.  There were hundreds of participants running and walking to raise funds for this great cause.  The event took place at Frank G. Bonelli Park in San Dimas

Ontario Recreation & Community Services Trunk or Treat

This event was sponsored by the City of Ontario for children and families to be able to Trick or Treat in safety. The event took place at the Ontario Soccer Park on Friday, October 27, 2023.

They had Spooky festivities along with trick or treating. Nationwide participated by decorating one of our fleet vehicles with Halloween décor and giving out candy to countless kids.

Santa’s Workshop for the event at Loma Linda Children's Hospital

Santa’s Workshop is an event that is put on annually by the Loma Linda Children’s Hospital. It is a way for their pediatric patient families spending their holiday at our Children’s Hospital to still experience Christmas.

The families are given the opportunity to “shop” for a toy to gift for their child and have it wrapped by one of our volunteer elves. Nationwide has participated as elves in this wonderful event for 4 years, most recently in December 2023.  A group of us delivers toys that have been donated by Nationwide employees and we help wrap gifts chosen by the patients’ parents. It’s a very humbling experience.

Operations Community Cares Military Packaging

Operation Community Cares is an all-volunteer organization that proudly supports our United States military personnel while deployed. We provide our communities with the opportunity to support and give back to our heroes who keep us free.

In November of 2023, a group of Nationwide volunteers had the opportunity to fill and prepare the packages for the troops.  The events took place on a Friday evening and a Saturday morning. The goal of the organization was to send 600-800 packages! The event took place at Hillside Community Church in Rancho Cucamonga
